In case you haven't heard, Jurassic World is a mega hit. It has already surpassed the Avengers as the third highest grossing movie of all time with $1.52 million in ticket sales. It hasn't even been released in Japan yet and I have a feeling that giant monsters go over well in Japan. It seems like the the fading franchise is back and stronger than ever. It also doesn't hurt that the movie stars Chris Pratt or that the movie was actually pretty damn good with tons of references to the original film.
Universal has set the sequel for June 22, 2018. Looks like we won't have to wait too long and luckily director Colin Trevorrow is set to return as a co-writer along with Derek Connolly. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will also be on board with Steven Spielberg executive producing again.
The only question that remains is how many original more Jurassic Park references they can cram into the newest film. They'd need a very clever girl to come up with more. I have no regrets over that terrible joke.
