Rejoice Star Wars and Disney fans! Your dreams are finally coming true. No, they haven't announced that they are retconning Jar Jar Binks out of existence. We get something potentially better, a Star Wars themed land in Disneyland and Disney World.
Disney CEO Bob Iger made the enormous announcement at Disney's D23 Expo and was met with obvious applause. The expansion efforts will be an enormous undertaking with 14 acres allotted to the Star Wars lands at each resort. Californian's always feel left out of the loop when it comes to new Disney theme park expansions due to limited space available around the Disney resort in Anaheim. Luckily, Disney was able to acquire more land which will give them wiggle room to grow.
The parks will have two main attractions for park guests. The Millennium Falcon will take visitors on a "secret mission" and another ride will put park guests between the New ORder and the Resistance from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Rides won't be the only thing to see at the parks with plans to populate the new lands with characters from the movies. This extends to shops, restaurants and everything in between. " You'd expect to find a cantina and there will be one" Iger said while describing the parks.
Everything sounds great so far and it will raise attendance rates for both parks. The only issue will be the sea of people who will flock to the parks will make it impossible to move. You can expect long lines and a cantina so crowded that you won't be able to tell if Han does shoot first.
