Pokemon fighting game, Pokken Tournament, heading to Wii U in Spring 2016

Looks like a new Pokémon game is coming to the Wii U Nintendo and Pokémon fans. The Japanese arcade game, Pokkén Tournament, will be making its way to the Wii U in 2016.

The news comes from the Pokémon Company on Friday at the 2015 Pokemon World Championships. The announcemnet included the added detail that the game will be making its way to Wii U owners worldwide next spring. If the idea of a fighting game that ends in "ken" reminded you of Tekken, that's not a coincidence. The game is being developed by Bandai Namco, which publishes the Tekken fighting games.

The game received plenty of attention when it was announced since Nintendo seems keen on keeping the Pokémon franchise on handhelds. Any home console version is seen as a rare chance to play with high resolution versions of fan favorite Pokémon. Take a look at the video above which announced the release of the game. Keep checking back for more updates and tell us what you think of the upcoming game. I'm going to spam so many cheap shots.

I'm able to eat 25 Mcnuggets in a row and maintain total composure. It's important to note that I have zero useful skills and will be the third to perish once the country runs out of corn syrup and the end days begin. I have zero allegiances to any gaming company or platform and go where the games are. Anime is my domain and I am a lower tier noble with hopes of becoming a duke. Oh, and I kinda started the site and trick- I mean, convinced some friends into helping.
