New features announced for Final Fantasy IX PC release revealed

While Final Fantasy VII and XV might be getting all of the love and attention from the internet, Final Fantasy XI will not go unheard. The PC version was announced just last week and now Steam has revealed a few of the changes being made to the upcoming release.

  • Skip random encounters
  • Achievements
  • High speed mode (fast forward)
  • Autosave
  • High definition movies and character models

Final Fantasy IX never gets the attention it should. After all, it perfectly embraced the look and feel of the classic European fantasy world. The added features will do much to bring this classic to the gaming standards that were accustomed to today. They're not mandatory and you can play old school, but being able to skip the more tedious parts will be a welcomed feature for those who don't have all the time in the world.
